Well after a busy day starting the week perhaps you can use just a little bit of a lighter touch. So let me tell you the little joke, and obviously it is a joke, about whether the dog was Catholic. And you may not think it's funny and that's OK and you may not particularly like it and that's OK, but if you're offended, you've got the problem. And like every funny thing there might be a good lesson in it about ourselves and how we connect with others in with the world.
My dear and beloved and wonderful graduate advisor Dr. Shapiro in the communications department at the University of Minnesota would love to tell stories and crack jokes, but once he said with a smile, "Remember to take all Jewish humor seriously!" So perhaps in the next 15 minutes you can learn something that might be serious and important. And if not at least perhaps it made you smile and smiling is always good for you. So here it goes!
