The celebration of Yom Kippur has begun. It is the highest and holiest of the holy days in Judaism. Even though we are not members of the faith and tradition, we are in deep sympathy, empathy, and a feeling of deep spiritual kinship with our many friends in faith.
We too seek to keep the Sabbath and in particular we celebrate the Rosh Hashanah, New Year's, and the 10 days that follow which are the Days of Awe culminating in this holy day which is the Day of Atonement.
These are challenging times for us all but in particular for oir Jewish friends and those of us who are friends of the state of Israel. It's been said that Israel is right now in the midst of a fight for it's very existence and it is in a seven front war.
I asked a good friend and a colleague in some projects, Steve Lear, to join me in a conversation of forgiveness, and a honest look at the situation before the people of Israel and indeed before us all; and in hope for a new spiritual renewal and direction for us all in the new year! We welcome you to be a part of our Yom Kippur conversation.
